[link] I was really determined to change up the way how I render fur so I tried to do something different than what i have done in the past. Usually I just use a dotted brush and smudge the edges to make fur, but I did a little bit of searching here on 
and found various tutorials. I tried to mix a bit of all of the tutorials I've found to get this result.I don't know what to make of it but i think it is definitely an improvement from what I've done in the past.

You represented the texture of fur almost perfectly, and as a result of that, you created a lot of depth. The character's pose and features are interesting. The background and light source are simple, but they do the trick. Try to refrain from shading using a black or lowly saturated, dark colour. Mixing different colours in the shading and lighting layers can do wonders. Do consider to add more detail to things other than the fur.
